Abbey Road Cover Outtakes – 6th Photo

Here’s the 5th shot that was used for the album cover. Shortly after the photo shoot, Paul chose this shot because he liked the fact they were all in step. Although, Paul is the only one with his right foot forward (symbolic?) The Beatles also liked that they were walking away from Abbey Road studios where they had spent much of the past decade recording their Beatles catalog.

Abbey Road Photographer Iain Stewart Macmillan used a photo of Yoko Ono in a book he published in 1966 and was invited by Yoko to photograph her exhibit at Indica Gallery. She introduced him to John Lennon. John invited him to be the photographer for the cover of Abbey Road. He worked with the Lennons for several years even staying for a while at their home in New York.
